Location: St. Peders Church – 4600 E 42nd St
The Army Corps of Engineers is proposing to conduct a study of the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock, Lower St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam and Lock and Dam 1 (Ford Dam) to determine if the Federal government should continue to operate these three dams and maintain the river channel in between.
If the dams are removed, the gorge will return to its original state with white water rapids. This is sure to become the local hot topic issue in our neighborhood for the next several years.
