Brackett Rocket on Pavement

Last weekend, a group of community volunteers, organized by neighborhood resident Robin Garwood, showed up to “Paint the Pavement,” a project which helped to create a work of art at the intersection of 28th Street and 39th Avenue S. The focus of the painting, the Brackett Rocket, is an icon found in Brackett Park and is one of the most recognizable images in the Longfellow neighborhood. The rocket is seen here along with a multitude of planetary fixtures and celestial images.
